Hey there, Good thing you got your comment mode on :). Sushi is really an acquired taste. Even though I'm Asian, have rice at practically every meal and Japan is a lot closer to where I am, it still took me some time to get used to it. But sushi does grow on you! Did you try the California Maki (handroll)? It's one of my favourites. I believe it's designed for Caucasians (hence the name!). And oh the beef you're referring to - it's probably wagyu - premium stuff. Try Teppanyaki - meat and vegetables prepared on a hot plate. If you're not too health conscious, go for the fried Tempura. Itadakimasu (loosely translated as help yourself!)
