I am Canadian!
I have always been a proud Canadian, but every once and a while something will happen to really make me realize just how very lucky I am to be Canadian.
I had this very experience last week regarding our health care system. I, like all Albertans pay my $44.00 per month for health care and by doing so can go to the doctor or hospital and get whatever I need done and that's it. I don't get a bill or have to get my folks to mortgage their house or any of that. I cannot even begin to imagine what my 'health care experience' last week would have cost. I am so lucky and thankful for our system, and although many people may think that it has its faults, maybe they haven't been sick lately.

You OK? Need Anything? Let me know ...
I agree, and it's better than no health care system!
soooo.... are you alive or what?

Wow that's a real good system. Here, we have the Medisave, which we contribute to every month, and can use it for most hospital-related treatments. But not much for outpatient treatment, unfortunately.
How are you feeling now?
Well, without a five page story, I think I feel the very first twinge of recovery so I am beginning to feel somewhat optimistic! I do attribute this to accupuncture yesterday and today. A few more days and I will know better but I feel hopefull after a couple of traumatic and scary weeks!! Thanks folks for asking!!
the lobotomy went well, then?
Now Nancy, the lobotomy was a secret!!
Hey Lisa
Time to post. What is happening with you?
Sean
You're very lucky indeed! I guess we can keep dreaming down here. . .
